Mighty Jaxx Singapore: The Brand That Cuts Icons Open

Mighty Jaxx takes the characters you know, cuts them open and rebuilds them through an artist’s visual language. The result sits between designer toys, licensed entertainment and street culture.

Founded in 2012 by Singaporean entrepreneur Jackson Aw, the brand is best known for turning pop-culture icons into anatomical cross-sections. Familiar faces remain intact on one side. On the other, imagined bones, muscles and internal structures become part of the design.

It is strange, playful and instantly recognisable. More importantly, it gives Mighty Jaxx a clear identity in a market crowded with licensed collectibles.

Where to find it: Online, and through stockists including Toys "R" Us and Universal Studios in Singapore, Beast Kingdom in Hong Kong and Taiwan, and 52TOYS in China

How Mighty Jaxx Built Its Visual Language

Mighty Jaxx is headquartered in Singapore, with additional offices in China, the UK and the US. However, geography only explains where the company operates. Its real identity comes from how it treats pop culture.

The approach is clearest in the XXRAY collectibles. Built from artist Jason Freeny's dissection aesthetic, the line turns recognisable characters into anatomical cross-sections. Half stays familiar. The other half reveals an imagined interior.

SpongeBob, Garfield, One Piece, Care Bears, My Little Pony and Felix the Cat have all entered this visual system. Each arrives with its own history and fan base. XXRAY gives them a single point of view.

The licence attracts attention. The treatment gives the object its identity.

That distinction matters, because licensing can easily become surface decoration. Mighty Jaxx makes it feel closer to a remix, where the original character stays visible but no longer feels untouchable. Beyond XXRAY, the brand has worked with Sanrio, Street Fighter, Jujutsu Kaisen, Transformers, Sesame Street and Looney Tunes. DC Comics was its first global licence.

Its 2017 Designer Toy Awards win for Brand of the Year, ahead of a field that included Kidrobot, confirmed the industry saw the difference.

Why Mighty Jaxx Is the Brand to Know Now

Mighty Jaxx connects several movements already reshaping street culture: artist-led products, collectible design, licensed remixing, digital provenance and experience-driven retail.

The brand understands that recognition is only the starting point. A famous character can attract a collector, but the reinterpretation must justify the object.

That principle has carried Mighty Jaxx from blind boxes to large-format Superkraft statues, global licensing and unexpected collaborations. It has also given the company a visual identity that remains readable across markets.

Singapore is central to that story. Mighty Jaxx proves the city can originate visual culture, scale it internationally and keep artists central to the product.

For global streetwear audiences, the logic should feel familiar. The strongest brands develop their own codes, repeat them with discipline and know when to disrupt them.

Mighty Jaxx does exactly that. It takes familiar icons, opens them up and sends them back into culture with a new identity.
